Nugent has been supporting the local communities of Liverpool and greater Merseyside for over 130 years.
Nugent is a diverse organisation specialising in social care support to over 6000 people across Liverpool and beyond. The support we provide is constantly changing, growing and adapting to people’s needs and due to this we find people are very familiar with individual services, but they often don’t realise that we have almost a seamless social care spectrum of support to offer to people from all walks of life.
Since 1881 Nugent has worked to support the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people from our community. Our aims are to respond to people in need irrespective of age, gender, disability, cultural beliefs sexual orientation, or religion. We offer a wide range of services including:- Specialist schools for children with behaviour and emotional difficulties, care homes for children. We are a registered adoption and fostering agency, finding families that last for looked after children.
We run residential care and nursing homes for older people including people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Care homes for people with physical and learning disabilities and for people with mental health problems. We have three community teams who work alongside vulnerable people including people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, people with learning disabilities, homeless people and people living in poverty. We have 30 different services across the region and are supported by over 300 volunteers.
