Samaritans Liverpool & Merseyside

Samaritans' vision is that fewer people die by suicide.

We do this by:

  • Being available round the clock, every single day of the year to offer emotional support to anyone who is having a difficult time.
  • Callers don't have to be suicidal to contact us; they can talk to us about anything that is on their mind.
  • We offer a full range of ways to engage with us including telephone, email, SMS and face to face.
  • Reaching out to high risk groups and communities to reduce the risk of suicide.
  • Working in partnership with other organisations, agencies and experts.
  • Using our experience to influence public policy and raising awareness of the challenges of reducing suicide.

Samaritans Liverpool & Merseyside receive no statutory funding and rely upon the generosity of the public for the majority of our income.

This money is invested back into our Branch to support our volunteers and continue to develop our vital frontline services.

Currently we are seeing an overwhelming demand for our services as other agencies are hit with funding cuts and people in desperate need of support have nowhere else to turn.

Leaving a gift to us would leave a lasting legacy for the people of Liverpool by enabling continued access to our support.
