The Whitechapel Centre is the leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region.
We work with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation. We are committed to helping people find and maintain a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living. At The Whitechapel Centre we believe it is essential to empower and enable people to live independently. We work with some of the most vulnerable, isolated and lonely people in our society. Our daily activity sessions build confidence, skills and capability.
Our support workers prepare clients to take on a tenancy, deal with health issues or addictions and develop budgeting skills. In the last year we worked with 2,500 people in Merseyside, a 32% increase over the last 3 years. Homelessness can happen to anyone. Our No Second Night Out Merseyside campaign is a 24 hour phone line to tell us about someone sleeping rough (0300 123 2041). There are a million reasons why someone sleeps rough for one night. There is no reason for anyone to sleep rough for a second night.
